Responsibilities (WP, IWG)
The project was initiated by TyuSU, FUE and AU, all three with a long joint experience of the EU projects. FUE and TyuSU equally lead in management of the project. FUE as the project coordinator, coordinates overall project implementation and guarantees its efficient running. It also supports training activities in EMI and CLIL. AU, together with AUTH, supervises methodology development and training of PC staff.
The role of TyuSU, the initiator of the project and the coordinator for PCs, is mportant for efficient project management, with their extensive experience of managing EU projects. TyuSU is in charge of coordination for RU, MN and KZ partners, liaison with all consortium members, governmental structures and NEOs; of keeping records of expenditures and draft reports. On a quarterly basis it summarises and up-dates the project achievements; together with FUE monitors fulfilment of the Work Plan and coordinates the assigned project activities. Together with FUE and AU, it supervises development of methodology (WP 2), dissemination (WP 8) and management (WP 9).
The EU universities cover a range of complementary fields of expertise in EMI and A&F. Each partner leads on at least one WP, in collaboration with one or two PCIs. FUE, AU and AUTH are fully engaged in staff training online, sharing their complementary expertise in CLIL, EMI, Blended Learning (AU and FUE) and curricular design of the modules for MSc in A&F and EU HE approaches to course design and quality standards (AUTH).
The PC members of the consortium are fully engaged in project management via frequent extended coordination meetings and Trans-institutional WGs (TWGs). They participate in the selection of teaching staff for training; provide information on project activities according to the work plan; are proactive developing course descriptions, designing methodology, organizing courses for their staff, developing cooperation between consortium members
The lead partners for work packages (WPs) are in charge of implementation of the activities and report to the Coordinator and the PC Manager.
Inter-disciplinary working groups (IWG) have been set up on a vertical level (in each PI), and on the horizontal level trans-institutional WG (TWG), each focused on a specific task; their members trained at seminars, workshops and discussion sessions.
The major decisions are taken in a democratic way, after an open debate and voting, on the basis of consensus. The Partnership Agreements provide a legal framework for smooth solutions of disagreements and conflicts, in case any arise. The PMB and the TWGs have been trying to develop a friendly atmosphere, mutual understanding and professional networking.
In selecting staff for all activities, the interests of under-privileged groups are taken into account and special attention is paid to building a gender-balanced team.
